There are several reasons for reporting a crime in a timely manner.
· Preservation of life or property
· The perpetrator might still be on the scene or in the area
· Preservation of evidence
· Statute of limitations

There are several reasons why people will not report a crime or criminal activity.
· Fear of retaliation
· Believe the police can do nothing about the crime
· Think that the crime isn’t serious enough to report
· Don’t want to have to go to court and testify.
· Don’t want to get involved
· Apathy
If we don’t fight crime together, then crime wins!
