Emergency Information and Resources
In an emergency or disaster situation, time is of the essence and it is critical to contact the appropriate authorities to respond to the situation at hand. Emergency telephone contact numbers, information about disaster (siren) alerts, and other emergency resources follow.

EMERGENCY SIREN ALERTS
If threatening weather is not present, emergency sirens are tested at 10:00 A.M. on the first Tuesday of each month. In the event of severe weather conditions, village residents should know the meanings of the emergency sirens that may be sounded in the Round Lake Area. Following are the sounds the sirens will make In the event of a true emergency::
- ALERT SIREN: This steady tone lasts three to five minutes. This means that the National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning and the path of the storm includes the Round Lake Area. Prepare to take cover.
- TAKE COVER SIREN: This oscillating (up and down) tone lasts three to five minutes. This indicates that a tornado funnel cloud has been spotted in the immediate area. Take cover immediately. The best place to take cover is in a basement or small interior room under a heavy table. If you are caught outside, take cover in a low ditch or ravine if possible.
Listen to your radio to determine if the immediate hazard is over.
