National Night Out

The first National Night Out began in 1984. The purpose is to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness as well as strengthen the partnership between the police department and the community.

We want to send a strong message to criminals that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back!

This year, 2009, we had several activities for young and old alike. We held this year's National Night Out on the grounds of Murphy School in our village. We held a bicycle rodeo, a Martial Arts demonstration presented by Traditional Martial Arts, well as a Canine demonstration presented by one of our canine units comprising of Officer Colon and his canine partner (Blade). We look forward holding another successful N.N.O. in August 2010 and invite our residents to participate during this community event.
