Shop with a Cop

Every Christmas Season the Round Lake Park Police Department heads up the greater Round Lake Area Shop with a Cop Program. This program enables children to go shopping with a police officer, from one of the  various participating police departments in the county. All the children then head over to the Round Lake Beach Wal-Mart Store for their dreams to become a reality. These children are given a gift certificate with a generous amount attached to it so they can buy some of the things on their Christmas wish list. Each child is accompanied by a police officer while they do their Christmas shopping.

Because of this benevolent program, these needy children can experience a brighter Christmas which might not have been possible otherwise. 

The Regal Cinema in Round Lake Beach also participates by giving the children and their families free movie passes as well as treats to watch the show.

Murphy Elementary School located in Round Lake Park allowed us thier facility to stage and coordinate this event. The Pizza Place in Round Lake Park and Buffalo Wild Wings in Round Lake Beach also provide food for this event.

Shop with a Cop would not be the success that it is every year if it weren’t for the generosity of all the contributors and all those that participate in this worthwhile program.
