General Information

Leaf Burning is permitted on private property, NOT IN THE DITCHLINE, from September 15 - April 15 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  Please be considerate of your neighbors, especially those with breathing disorders.

Watering Ban - During the period of May 15th to September 15th, a water ban remains in effect during the hours of 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During this time period, residential water used for the purposes of vehicle washing or lawn sprinkling of water supplied by the Village of Round Lake Park is banned per Village ordinance.

Reduce Mosquito Population & Help Prevent West Nile Virus! - Did you know that mosquitoes can breed in just one teaspoon of standing water? After each rainfall empty water from containers in your yard such as empty planters, wheelbarrows and buckets (these are best stored upside down), and tires (for disposal information contact the IL EPA's Used Tire Program at 217-785-8604). Refill birdbaths with fresh water daily, cut the grass weekly, and keep roof gutters and downspouts clear of debris.

High Grass/Weeds - Owners or occupants of any property in the village who permits weeds and grass to grow to a height exceeding eight inches will be ticketed.

Garbage Pick Up - Trash collection begins at 6:00 AM on Wednesdays. Please put trash out early: if trash is not out when the collectors come through, they will not come back. The contract with Groot allows for the one wheeled container of normal household trash, the one wheeled container of recycling, and one small bulk item no heavier than 50 pounds that can be managed by one person. Anything above this limit must be pre-paid at the Village Hall at the rate of $2.50 per extra bag or can. A list of special pick up items and prices is available at the Village Hall. You must call Groot direct at (877) 404- 7668 to have white goods picked up.

  • Recycling - Styrofoam, plastic toys, and plastic bags are not acceptable recyclable items. TVs and computers can be dropped off at a drop off center. For the nearest center and hours, call SWALCO at 847-336-9340 or log onto http://www.co.lake.il.us/swalco/.
  • Please DO NOT mix yard waste with regular household trash or recycling - it contaminates the load which is rejected.

Parking - No motor vehicle, boat, or trailer may be parked on the grass of any property within the village limits. No overnight parking is allowed on any street within the village from 11:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Street parking is prohibited in the Willows of Greenwood and Lakeview Estates subdivisions at all times.

Parties/Social Gathering - If you are planning a party or social gathering that requires parking on the street you must notify the Police Department in writing at least one week prior to the event. If your guests are going to park on the street after 11:00 PM, you must contact CenCom at (847) 270-9111 (Fire & Police Dispatch) with vehicle make, model, and license plate numbers.
